Magic Scrap

Summary: A quick game to play during transition periods – useful for encouraging students to clean-up after a messy craft!

Instructions:

  1. The purpose of this game is to make a competition out of cleaning, so it works best if the classroom floor is messy.
  2. As the facilitator, choose a piece of trash or item on the floor to be the “magic scrap” but don’t tell anyone what it is.
  3. The objective for players is to pick up the magic scrap. To accomplish this, they should pick up as many items off the floor as possible and throw them away or put them back where they belong.
  4. Once the room is clean, announce what the magic scrap was and which player picked it up. Consider giving them a small prize or piece of candy for being the winner!
